Lakhimpur (Uttar Pradesh), Jan 27 (ANI): Lakhimpur Kheri case accused Ashish Mishra was released from jail on Jan 27. Accused, son of MoS for Home Affairs Ajay Mishra, was granted 8-week interim bail by SC. The Supreme Court on Jan 27 granted 8-week interim bail to him in 2021 Lakhimpur Kheri violence which claimed eight lives during the farmer’s protest of 2021. Mishra allegedly ran over the protesters protesting against the Centre's contentious three farm laws that were later repealed. Ashish Mishra along with his father and the Central Government faced country-wide criticism over the incident. Many chastised the Modi Government and demanded the sacking of accused’s father Ajay K Mishra.
