New Delhi, June 14 (ANI): India is assisting fellow developing countries to develop land restoration strategies, said Prime Minister Narendra Modi while addressing at UN 'High-Level Dialogue on Desertification, Land Degradation and Drought'. “We have taken up some novel approaches. One example is Banni region in Rann of Kutch, Gujarat suffers from highly degraded land and receives very little rain. In that region, land restoration is done by developing grasslands which help in achieving land degradation neutrality. Land degradation poses a special challenge to the developing world. India is assisting fellow developing countries to develop land restoration strategies. A Centre of Excellence is being set up in India to promote scientific approach towards land degradation issues,” said PM Modi.
