Telecom Service Providers (TSPs) have started providing 5G services in the country from October 1, 2022, said a press release by the Ministry of Communications on Wednesday.

Reliance Jio on Tuesday announced the launch of 5G services across 34 cities spread across 13 states, taking the cumulative tally of the number of cities having access to the company's True 5G services to 225.
Initially, Airtel launched the 5G services in Samba, Kathua, Udhampur, Akhnoor, Lakhanpur and Khore in Jammu province, while the service has been launched in Kupwara city in Kashmir valley.
"By December 2023, Jio True 5G services will be made available in every town and taluka of the Northeastern states," the company said in a statement shared with exchanges on Friday. True 5G is now live in 191 cities across the country.
