London [U.K.], Feb. 27 (ANI): In a novel combination, religion walked hand in hand with fashion at the Rome launch of Met's Show, 'Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination'.

The Vatican's president of the Pontifical Council for Culture, Cardinal Gianfranco Ravasi, joined the likes of Donatella Versace, Anna Wintour, and Andrew Bolton for the launch.

The Catholic leader's presence hinted at the wonders to come in the fashion world in terms of religion.

A Paris-based photographer Katerina Jebb, in consultation with Bolton, who is the curator in charge for the show, worked on several pieces for the portfolio for several months. The portfolio is reported to consist of large-format digital scans of some of the pieces that will come to New York, as well as others which are too fragile to travel.

The exhibition opens for the public at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York on May 10. (ANI)
